I’ll never forget being in my New York City office on 9/11.
To this day I can still recall with absolute clarity looking through the 28th floor window when I saw the second plane strike the tower. I felt fear, crippled and trapped. The world, as I knew it, changed in that split second.
During that time, as I helped people deal with their thoughts and feelings, they told me I had a unique ability to break through all the clutter, an innate skill to hear what they were saying and what they weren’t.
It crystallized for me with perfect clarity what I was meant to do – my “A-HA” moment – I found my true passion and calling.
To date, one of the greatest things that I have learned in life, that also changed my life for the better, was learning to take the time to accept and celebrate wins. Yes, even the smallest ones.
About 20+ years ago, I was pretty overweight (have a look at me in this photo!). Over a period of 6 months, I successfully transformed my body and shed 130 pounds simply through a diet.
You might be saying, wow sounds great … Anyone can lose weight but keeping it off is the hard part. And, you’re right! But, guess what? I’ve kept it off for all these years. Although I took time to celebrate the weight loss, what was and continues to be most important is the mindset shift I made. Mindset matters!
By changing my mindset, it enabled me to live what I believe to be a rewarding, meaningful and purposeful life, personally and professionally. It all comes down to being our authentic selves and making a few practical changes with ease that help sustain the results.
Live. Matter. Thrive. 365.
Here’s what they’re saying…
